If we learned nothing else from 2016, it should be the big difference between national and statewide polls. National polls can be a good indicator of general trend lines, but the numbers that really matter are in the state. According to most models, President Trump has to win North Carolina.
The Trump campaign has every right to cheer these national gallup numbers, but if Trump want’s four more years in the White House he’s got some work to do in the states.
