With Protests, Size Matters…Or Does It

I always assumed that when it came to protests size matters.  The more people at the protest the bigger the issue.  However, when it comes to an issue a certain paper has been instrumental in pushing it’s more about the motion of the ocean than the size of the boat.

Exhibit A.  The Wilmington Star News devoted half a page in their Sunday edition to a GenX protest in Fayetteville that featured a whopping two people…

Once again, two people showed up to a protest and got half a page in the Wilmington Star News.  GenX is still a major issue in southeastern North Carolina.  I think it’s being overhyped for political purposes and there is still no evidence that it is anywhere near as bad as some environmental hacks are claiming.  That being said, as someone who drinks from a water source contaminated with GenX I would like a lot more info on what exactly it is.  This protest makes the issue seem comical.  If you are someone concerned abut GenX the Star News didn’t do you any favors by hyping a protest that makes GenX look like chemtrails…
